Ambition, Personality, Opportunity, and Preparation are the four things that they taught you. But, how did we get here? How did we come to walk the land of the free with shackles cuffed at our feet? How did we miss the dream we once dreamed?

When I look around the room, all I hear are hollow voices. Trying to scream over those who are always heard.

We are a generation of people without a voice,

without a cause,

without a choice,

trin to make a change,

without a fight,

trin to make a change,

without a right,

America is the great,

speakin tha truth,

painted black and white,

what’s left to do,

gunfights, flashing lights, HEADlights,

to tha green light turn blue,

they pull us over,

at every stop light,

Crooked cops,

trinna fight at every street light,

with nothing left to do,

But shoot US,

Until tha green turn blue

Boys and girls raised by those who faced a great triumph but never overcame suppression. Projecting knowledge onto the youth about the problems.

Yet the solution lies within you. You were the ones who marched for freedom. You were the ones who were beaten. You were the ones who SURVIVED!

You are the ones who could teach, preach, and lead those into a better future. There is a gap that divides us in and out.

No one is talking, no one is listening, no one is learning. Just stuck thinking that all lives matter, but not knowing how did our lives begin?

Little Rock Central High School
You haven’t failed us. You have cradled us to believe the times have changed. While my brothers are shot from the arms of the man. Did you think his plan would end? To enslave us and rape us while he continues to walk free across the land that you helped break into existence.

Teach us so that we can teach our kids. Teach us how to march for what we believe in.

Teach us so that we can protect us from being dead.

Teach us so they know we are aware

Teach us so we can overcome suppression  and inequality

Teach us what is not being taught in our schools

Our lives matter, but our education matters more.

Teach us!
